Is Your Business Ready for the eDesign Movement?

It’s clear that in just a matter of weeks, the future of the way Interior Designers do business has taken on its’ own massive remodeling process.  Across the country, designers have quickly learned to adapt to the new normal: virtual e-design.   With newly popular applications such as Zoom and FaceTime group chat, virtual connectivity is at it’s prime, so much so, that even creative, well-designed Zoom backgrounds that were hardly know a month ago have become a trending topic.  

Despite the threat that the Coronavirus seems to be lengthening by the day, there is another sector of business that is booming:  eDesign.  While it’s known to be a little more of the DIY style of design, eDesign originated in the early aughts as an affordable option to connect clients with designers across the globe, in the recent weeks, eDesign has become wildly popular and in high demand.

In the last three weeks, it has become clear that firms and independent designers who have been working virtually for years are are among the few who are experiencing an incredible boost, despite the closure of many storefronts and the new normal of social distancing. 

Unprecedented gains have been noted for designers such as Jenna Gaidusek of eDesign Tribe, an independent eDesigner platform, who touts in just 48 hours, they have added 100 new members to their platform.  With a 30% boost in online traffic, Gretchen Hansen of Decorist is noting that the shift to virtual design is, in fact, quickly redesigning the industry and how designers do business.
